Dr. Katherine Borda
PT, DPT
Dr. Borda was born and raised in Flushing, Queens, NY. She graduated from Queens college, with a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Exercise Science in 2015. She then worked as a physical therapy aide for three years at a local clinic in Jackson Heights, NY. She earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree from Stony Brook University in Stony Brook, NY in 2022.

Prior to starting DPT school, Katherine had the opportunity to volunteer as an interventionist at the Center for Cerebral Palsy Research, using Constraint-Induced therapy and Hand-Arm Bimanual Intensive therapy on the involved hand and arm use in children ages 6-17 years with hemiplegic cerebral palsy.

Katherine became interested in physical therapy while watching her grandmother rehabilitate after fracturing her left leg from an accident many years ago. In addition to helping take care of her grandmother with the beginning stages of Alzheimer’s disease, it has genuinely impacted her perspective on how she wants to approach patient care. As a physical therapist, she believes therapy treatment is about being aware of patient’s daily struggles and putting yourself into their shoes to better understand their needs.

Outside of work, Katherine enjoys going to the gym, taking dance classes, bike riding, rollerblading, spending time with friends and family, and snowboarding. Katherine recently moved to Salinas, California with her amazing fiancé Erick to join the Balance Physical Therapy team!
