Dr. Muñoz is a licensed Physical Therapist who strives to combine the best available research, the goals and needs of each individual patient, and clinical experience to provide the best evidence-based care possible. He believes in a holistic approach where he treats the whole person and helps each individual optimize their movement, reduce their pain and add life to their days.

Kurt completed his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree, Magna Cum Laude, at California State University, Fresno. Prior to earning his doctorate degree, Kurt earned a master’s degree in Exercise Science and Health Promotion from CAL U in Pennsylvania and a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in education from the University of California at Santa Cruz. In addition to his studies, Kurt played collegiate soccer for UCSC where he helped lead his team to their divisions’ NCAA national title game.

Kurt has completed an extensive yearlong post-doctoral education training program to earn the distinction of certified manual physical therapist.

Additionally, Kurt has a special interest, advanced training, and certification in vestibular rehabilitation. Kurt treats patients with imbalance, dizziness, vertigo, including BPPV, and more.

Prior to his career in Physical Therapy, Kurt worked as a health educator where he helped expatriates working for fortune 500 companies manage their specific health conditions and needs while living abroad.

Kurt was born, raised, and resides in Watsonville and is excited to be serving the residents of Watsonville and South Santa Cruz County at Balance Physical Therapy’s Watsonville clinic.

When not treating in the Salinas clinic, Kurt can be found on the soccer field, on the mats training in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, or at the beach surfing with his wife and two young daughters.
