Dr. Miller was born and raised in McKinleyville, CA surrounded by the beautiful
redwoods of Northern California. She graduated from California State Polytechnic
University, Humboldt with a bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology and a minor in Psychology
in 2021. She then continued her education at Franklin Pierce University in Goodyear,
Arizona and earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2023. After completing her
education, she moved to Salinas, California to join the Balance Physical Therapy team
after her last clinical rotation to further serve the Monterey County community and to be
closer to family.
Abby initially became interested in physical therapy while watching her grandfather
rehabilitate after experiencing a stroke and became inspired to help other individuals
and their family members to be able to return to their highest level of function while
using movement and exercise as a tool to manage symptoms and impairments. Abby’s
clinical experience includes a wide variety of different patient populations, including
working with high school athletes, neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s Disease,
individuals who have had a stroke, and vestibular rehabilitation, post-surgical
procedures, aquatic therapy, chronic pain, pelvic floor physical therapy, and individuals
with a history of falls or balance deficits.
Abby is dedicated to finding the most relevant and current evidence-based practice
interventions to provide her patients with personalized and specialized care. Abby
currently has her LSVT BIG certification to help individuals with Parkinson’s Disease to
achieve long lasting outcomes with movement and implements these principles into her
clinical practice.
Outside of the clinic, you can find Abby spending time with family and friends, hiking,
playing pickleball, exploring the Central Coast, and trying new food places. She also
enjoys playing with her dog, DJ, and traveling to new areas to explore and sightsee.
